South Cook Area Wide Institute Day 2026
Monday November 2, 2026 11:10am - 12:00pm CST
What if we could use real-time school data to strengthen classroom climate and improve student outcomes? This session introduces the Resilient Supportive Schools Illinois (RSSI) framework, a free statewide resource designed to help schools integrate trauma-responsive strategies, social-emotional learning (SEL), mental health supports, and equitable practices into everyday routines. Participants will explore how relationship-centered classroom management and a positive school climate can enhance engagement, mitigate behavioral challenges, and improve academic outcomes. The session will include an overview of research, educator stories, and the four RSSI pillars, as well as a hands-on walkthrough of the RSSI data tool to support school-wide improvement planning. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to enhance climate and wellness in their own contexts, along with access to the RSSI app for ongoing support and resource alignment.
